Mason Nome Takes Third Place at Prestigious  2011 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship
Wednesday, 10 August 2011 00:00

mason_smallThe US Kids World Championship is the largest and most prestigious tournament in the world for children, attracting about 1200 players ages 6-12. Mason Nome, a 10 year old golfer from Houston – who we have been following throughout his young career – has a Full Swing Golf simulator installed in his home.

Mason's father Craig, who mentions that the simulator was "key to Mason playing well," explains. "Mason played some strong golf at the U.S. Kids World Championship Aug 4-6 in Pinehurst, North Carolina, shooting 73-67-72 (212 total - Minus 4) to finish 3rd out of 147 in the World. He finished as the 2nd American in the tournament.  He had it to six under for the tourney on the front nine Saturday with two more birdies, but ended up at even par for the day and minus 4 for the week. Most importantly, he had a lot of fun playing."

Congratulations go out to Mason and his family on a very successful golfing career thus far. We look forward to following Mason's bright future in golf.
