At 282 metres up in the air, City Golf offers an elevating virtual golf experience. Come late May, City Golf will undisputedly be Singapore’s highest indoor golf centre. It will be located at the 61st floor of One Raffles Place (formerly known as OUB Centre) and is part of a very ambitious project to turn the rooftop of Singapore’s tallest building into the lion city’s newest chill out joint called 282©.

282© will have a rooftop bar, an open-flame restaurant that is run by the team from One Rochester and a sports-lifestyle hub, operated by City Golf Singapore. Golf simulator aficionados will have probably heard of the City Golf brand as they have a successful venture in Bangsar, Malaysia. City Golf Singapore plans to bring a different concept from their sister company north of Singapore.

“City Golf Singapore is a sophisticated sports lounge where our customers can enjoy a round of virtual golf on our Full Swing Golf simulators. Or, they can just have a drink and view live matches via the 35 LCD TVs and six giant screens around the place,” says Tom Wheeler, Managing Director of City Golf Singapore.
Tom added that City Golf complements 282’s concept perfectly with its stylish and chic interiors. According to him, 282© can be described as having a cosmopolitan feel similar to the Dempsey or One Rochester area. Difference is, it is located right in the heart of Singapore and high up in the air.

“We do not want to make City Golf appear very golf-centric or a place that is exclusively for serious golfers. Instead, it is just one element that makes up the new 282© - a unique, all-inclusive entertainment offering,”explainsTom. “The view up there is not too bad as well.”

Urban Fairways
Urban Fairways opened its doors three years ago in 2007, making them the pioneers of Singapore’s golf simulation industry. Located at Club Street, Urban Fairway’s laid-back lounge concept assimilates easily with its neighboring rows of chic eateries and bars. The downtown location attracts plenty of white-collared executives from the nearby CBD area and its comfortable confines have become a regular haunt for its customers.

Amazingly, the world’s best woman golfer scored a hole- in-one at Pebble Beach’s par-three seventh. Ghosh reckoned that Lorena’s ace was possible because of the deadly accuracy of their simulator.  “Our simulators are 95% accurate,” added Ghosh. “Lam Chih Bing visited our place, hit an eight-iron and said that he swung 160m.Then, as we turned and looked at the screen, the simulator showed 163m.”
