we-are-golfWashington, D.C. – The golf industry has something to say, and on April 28th the game's leading associations marched right up the Capitol building steps to spend some time with members of Congress.

In an effort to showcase the influence that the golf industry has on a national scale, leaders in the business brought the game literally inside the Capitol lobby for demonstrations and hands-on interaction. Full Swing Golf was the company called upon to help that become a reality. PGA of America chose Full Swing to bring the game of golf as close to the Congressmen and women as possible and, without hesitation, FSG provided an indoor golf solution that had Washington lawmakers stopping in their tracks.

Proclaiming April 28th National Golf Day, the PGA of America and other major golf associations spent the day discussing the 2 million jobs it provides, the $3.5 billion of annual charitable donations it gives, and the positive effects it has on the environment. While policymakers became educated on golf's impact behind closed doors, the lobby of the building housed a Full Swing Golf Newport Simulator, allowing members of Congress to take a break between their busy schedules to benefit from a brief swing lesson or enjoy playing a couple of holes on Pebble Beach – site of the 2010 U.S. Open. This was no easy request, however, as the time constraints of Congress' schedule and space constraints of the interior of the building provided only a small window of opportunity to give lawmakers some up close experience with the game.

"Not a problem," says Brian Brown, VP of Sales for Full Swing Golf. "With the advent of this occasion, PGA of America needed a quick solution to getting golf into the hands of government employees, and Full Swing prides itself on tackling unique and often challenging scenarios. We can do this because we have the most versatile and reliable line of simulator solutions in the industry. In this case the foyer of the building was booked out with 2 other events for the day, so speed to set up and break down was crucial. There was a small window of time to deliver the simulator, set it up, and tear it down before the next event started. The golf event came to a close at 2pm and the Newport simulator was folded up and carried out by 2:30."

Many of the passers by were seen walking quickly by with a heavy load of the day's work on their faces, but, with an unexpected double take, would walk back and take a moment to hit a couple of golf balls in the simulator. Many PGA pros and members who participated in the program were often found standing around the simulator, amazed by the accuracy and realism of the system – especially considering how portable it is. Full Swing Golf is proud to have partnered with PGA of America on such an important occasion for the golfing industry.
